Introduction

In honor of MeVitae’s first international trip to Las Vegas for UNLEASH America, we thought we would share a different style blog - a more personal account highlighting our experiences in the States.

In case you don’t know, UNLEASH America, also known as the “International Festival of HR” is the number one HR conference and exposition in America, held over the 7-9th of May 2024. With many of our partners and clients attending, we decided this year would be a great time for us to go too and so we sent Ellie (Customer Success Manager), Nathan (Product Manager) and Toby (Enterprise Sales Manager) over to the USA for a 6-day long excursion - it went something like this:

Day 1 – Monday May 6th

Monday was not very eventful, primarily consisting of long flights to Las Vegas via New York. Upon arrival, we promptly headed to our hotel at Treasure Island, keen to avoid jetlag as best as possible

Day 2 – Tuesday May 7th

On Tuesday, we kicked off the day with a hearty breakfast at Denny’s before strolling down the main strip, soaking in iconic sights like the Las Vegas sign and the Pinball Hall of Fame. After visiting Ceasars Forum to check in for Unleash and set up our booth, we grabbed some lunch before returning to the hotel to unwind by the pool. The remainder of the day was dedicated to relaxation, capped off with a casual evening out for pizza.

Day 3 – Wednesday May 8th

On Wednesday, the excitement kicked in as the first full day of the conference unfolded at Unleash. Nathan dedicated his time to networking with partners, while Ellie and Toby took charge of the booth, sparking engaging conversations and offering demos of our solutions. We also had the pleasure of catching up with some clients before heading out for a dinner treat at Popeyes.

Day 4 – Thursday May 9th

Thursday marked the second action-packed day at Unleash, where we engaged in stimulating conversations with various fascinating organizations. We also had the privilege of attending the Magic Johnson “The Magic of Work Transformation” talk. Following the conference, we decided to make a splash with another visit to the pool before treating ourselves to a delightful dinner at Caesar's Palace.

Day 5 – Friday May 11th

On Friday morning the team were fortunate enough to do a helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon (Thank you Riham and Vivek for booking this!). We then went for breakfast and did some more exploring (this time on land) with a hop-on-hop-off bus trip before going souvenir shopping and catching the flight back to New York.

Day 6 – Saturday May 10th

On Saturday we arrived bright and early in New York City at 7 am (!). Eagar to explore the metropolis, our itinerary comprised visiting Times Square, followed by a scenic tour on another hop-on-hop-off bus, where we visited some main sights such as Brooklyn Bridge, The Empire State Building and the Public Library. We then paid our respects at the 9/11 Museum and Memorial Pools. As the day drew to a close, we boarded our flight back to the UK and bid farewell to the States.

All-in-all, this was a fantastic trip, where we all gained lots of invaluable insights. As we reconnect with the great contacts we made back on home soil, we are already eagerly looking ahead to our next international trip!
